Building of an immunosensor: How can the composition and structure of the thiol attachment layer affect the immunosensor efficiency? ArchiMer
Briand, Elisabeth; Salmain, Michèle; Henry, Jean-marie; Perrot, Hubert; Compere, Chantal; Pradier, Claire-marie.
Immunosensors, based on the immobilization of a model rabbit antibody on mixed self-assembled monolayers and Protein A as a linking agent on gold transducers, were elaborated and characterized at each step by modulated polarization-infrared spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) and occasionally by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). By testing two different mixed SAMs comprising 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA), together with either decanethiol (C9CH3) or mercaptohexanol (C6OH), the role of the chemical composition and structure of the antibody attachment layer upon the sensor performance was demonstrated. Compréhension des mécanismes d'adhésion des biofilms en milieu marin en vue de la conception de nouveaux moyens de prévention ArchiMer
Rubio, Celine.
Biofilm formation on surfaces immersed in sea water induces equipment damages. Recently, studies focused on the environmental impact of antifouling paints have shown that some active chemical compounds are harmful to the aquatic environment. Hence, it appears fundamental to study physico-chemical interactions existing between marine bacteria and various substrata to conceive new ecological products or antifouling processes. First, we model an artificial primary organic film, formed by the adsorption of BSA and polysaccharide, as close as the one formed in natural seawater. This organic film is heterogeneous (only 42% of the surface is covered) and organic adsorption occurs in a multi-layer scheme, molecules bounded each others by calcium and magnesium...
